Mrs Redhead Photography Exhibition February 2015

She is intrigued by myths and mists and other fascinating tales which shows in all her photos; the latest her album; Viking Tales. We have worked closely together many a time by now; her behind her lens with her magical eye, I in front of it. Sometimes it also happens I write a poem for a photo of hers.

I am looking much forward to her exhibition, I will be there, possibly somewhere on the wall but definitely among the guests. More info will follow soon…

Facebook write up

I’m thrilled to present a great line up for a mighty night in Guru Tea House in Ennistymon, County Clare.

hanne_lasses_smallweb It will be a one and only performance by two amazing lasses from Amsterdam joined with a bogman from Kildare and a fiddler from Clare…

Margot and Sophie met at Victor Lacken’s Wednesday session in Mulligans and found out their voices went very well together: Margots husky alto and Sophies emotive soprano complement each other perfectly. Irish traditionals, Americana and folk standards brought to the stage or the
street in tender harmony!

Margot played the streets of the Netherlands, Norway, Germany and Australia with Ed ten Hoedt as duo Sunflower before she found Sophie in Mulligans.

Sophie sang with her family for years and still sings solo and in several folk bands, but harmonies is what she grew up with. Both singers play the acoustic guitar and the bodhrán and are based in Amsterdam.

A bogman heard them play while he was on his own concert tour in Holland and invited them to Ireland. The fiddler that will join them on the same night is magical. “It’s all good” as he says.

The 15th of April @ 8.30 pm
Tickets: €10 at the door (or call in any time beforehand)

An Afternoon about Simplicity – A View into a Life Lived on the Edge

If you are curious about my life and have any questions, I have kindly been invited to answer… The formal email invitation below:

A Nomad in SedonaHanne T. Fisker is living a life in the space between, where everything is turned upside down and nothing is what it seems or set in stone… a life where fierce honesty, creativity and the mystery of paradoxes is the key elements. A life where listening is essential and where resonance is the compass from where she navigates her life with very little room for shoulda, gotta, oughta do”. A human being who doesn’t have a plan, there are no holy cows and who’s favourite quote is: “There are no rules around here, we are trying to accomplish something” (Thomas A. Edison) Maybe she really is on to something or maybe she is just a very odd person leading an odd life… Regardless, you are hereby invited to an afternoon where the doors will open into another person’s reality, life and wanderings, inner as well as outer…

We have invited Hanne to come and spent an afternoon in a mix of stillness and conversation where we have the opportunity to ask her questions about her life.

Venue: Lysefjordsgade 9, st., 2300 Copenhagen S, at Annette klingenberg Jørgensen
Time: Saturday the 20.04.2013 @ 1 to 3pm.
Donation: minimum 150 dk.kr.
Please bring a pillow, only limited chairs

Blow Your Heart Open (2)A BURREN CALL
An Invitation to Breakthrough Conversations

A true Call and honest intent for inspiring breakthrough conversations that for sure has this being involved!

“It’s a call as ancient as time; as raw as its naked rocks; as insistent as the break of the Atlantic ocean on its western shores; as paradoxical as the Alpine and Mediterranean flowers that nestle side by side in its crevices; it’s as haunting as the salutary legend of Poll na Glaise and the Seven Streams

NO ONE IS UNAFFECTED BY THE POWERFUL CALL OF THIS PLACE.

It’s a call to remember what you always knew but temporarily forgot; It’s a call to reconnect with the source of all life and who you are;
It’s a powerful call to Blow your Heart Open.”

GFI’s ‘Climate Gathering’ February the 15th – 17th 2013, is the first opportunity to make the power of A Burren Call an echo that will be heard far beyond the confines of the Burren. For further information please follow the link: www.climategathering.org

Østerbro Pigekor in Concert with Irish Singer Songwriter Luka Bloom!

Sometimes, all it takes is a song. One rainy October day on the west coast of Ireland, the song “Fertile Rock” by Irish singer songwriter Luka Bloom reached Østerbro Pigekor’s (ØP) conductor Marlene Lollike. A song that became the foundation rock for what later transpired into a true musical adventure between Østerbro Pigekor and Luka Bloom. A deeply inspiring and creative friendship developed during their choir tour to Ireland in July 2012, and as a natural consequence, Marlene Lollike invited the Irish troubadour to Copenhagen. Despite a busy concert calendar for the autumn, Luka Bloom enthusiastically accepted the invitation and ØP’s now looking much forward to offer the Danes a little insight into Irish music, a meeting with a true artist (and “bogman” freely translated by the girls to bonderøv) and to share a small part of the magic that unfolded in Ireland.

True to the traditional Irish spirit in which the music occurs spontaneously and in the flow that is given, the choir and Luka Bloom only have a few days together up to the concert, but it should not be underestimated what can arise in a creative moment when the heart and soul is involved and everyone gives their utmost. The repertoire will consist of ØP’s own Nordic tracks, songs in cooperation with Luka Bloom and last but not least, a few of his songs solo.

It is with great joy and honor that Østerbro Pigekor with Marlene Lollike at the helm, exactly two years after the song that started it all, can bid welcome to an afternoon in the name of music. Anything can happen … one thing is for sure, it will not be boring.

Date: 6th of October 2012 at 4pm
Venue: Frihhavnskirken, Copenhagen.
Fee: 50 dk.kr at the door.

Collaborative Concert with Lismorahaun Singers, Østerbro Pigekor and Guest: Luka Bloom

The poetic energy of The Burren is known to inspire and call out the art of many an artist from all over the world and one rainy day in October 2011 it reached the Danish choirmaster Marlene Lollike through the song “Fertile Rock” by singer songwriter Luka Bloom. Deeply moved by the sound and lyrics of the song, she sat in the kitchen with her long-time friend from childhood in a little white cottage in Doolin in the midst of green hills and sprinting donkeys, dreaming the next tour for her choir Østerbro Pigekor. And sometimes dreams do come true and sometimes a dream transpires itself beyond our wildest imagination.

The Burren is also the home for the exceptional Lismorahaun Singers with the inspiring Archie Simpson as musical director. Despite different surrounding backgrounds for the Danish and the Irish choir, one in a capital city another between limestone rocks, exists something that’s even beyond the common love of singing; they have a mutual unique sense and feel for the resonance of the universal language of music that transcends any differences there might be.

An email was sent to Archie Simpson in February 2012 with a humble request, if he in any way would be interested in meeting up with the Danish Østerbro Pigekor when they were coming to Ireland first week of July. With his positive reply (this is an understatement) a whole avalanche of musical creativity started, emails flying between Denmark and Ireland, intended and unintended phone calls, full-on work on arrangements and songs, and all this is to culminate in a collaborative concert in Kilfenora, County Clare the 5th of July. Each choir will bring their own repertoire along with a couple of songs they will perform together, among them a Danish and Irish Folksong (some challenging tongue-twisting is guaranteed)

Another little story is being added to this already quite fascinating adventure, when Luka Bloom hears about the upcoming collaborative concert. Excited as only he (and Archie !) can be, he contributes with the idea to meet up with both choirs at their workshop the 4th of July, before his own concert in Lahinch same evening. The wish is to have both choirs accompanying him on one of his songs “Gaman” from his newest album “This New Morning” and create a special moment in time remembering the Japanese people and their way of dealing with earthquakes and tsunamis. Gaman means: to endure the endurable. And since the charming second wave of vikings and the powerful singers of the Burren are too cool to miss, Luka will stay around for another night and be the choirs special guest on the evening of the collaborative concert the 5th. 🙂

So, here we are. The dots have been connected; 3 creative and inspiring people with music as their first language accompanied by strong and beautiful sopranos, altos, basses and drones, need say no more.

However, the true beauty and strength of this story is, how everyone involved is giving their utmost with a sincere enthusiasm and honest openness to what collaboratively can be co-created in a very short amount of time. The choirs are looking much forward to share this musical adventure at their concert where anything can happen…

Mullach Mór

In honor of the song that was the spark that ignited this dream, the Danish Choir will walk up and greet Mullach Mor and give a little back to The Burren for what it gives everyone who walks there. The walk is open to anyone who would want to join the choir on the 3rd of July at 11am-ish, if the weather allows it. Meeting point will be at the starting point of the trail. Do come along !
